How do you plan to celebrate Christmas this year?
Hi Joanne, thank you for the invitation your Festive Spotlight! I write romantic and uplifting fiction with a strong sense of setting and community connecting the lives of my characters.
Do you still keep any Christmas traditions from your childhood?
What’s your favourite Christmas film?
Yes, cooking our turkey on Christmas Eve rather than on the day itself. My dad still does this now and it’s a tradition that made it into the book.
The Winter Cottage by Rachael Lucas and Midnight in the Snow by Karen Swan. My husband and I give each other gothic novels every Christmas and we read them curled up in front of the fire with a nice drink and some Christmas chocolate. Our tastes in these books are quite similar and one year we gave each other the same one, which was funny. A lot of thought goes into our choices, and I love to have something darker to immerse myself in over the holidays.

It’s very difficult to find just one but I absolutely loved a photo book my husband made for me in 2012. He was studying for a Masters degree whilst working full time and looking at our photos from that year reminds me that we still managed to fit in some wonderful times with family and friends.
Hello Suzanne and thanks for joining me. First of all, would you tell my blog readers a little about yourself?

What Christmas book are you looking forward to reading this year?
And finally, what’s the best Christmas present you ever received?

Last Christmas by Wham is one, especially with that video, as well as All I Want for Christmas. I love carols and have soug lots down the years and my favourites are O Holy Night and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.
How can people follow you or connect with you on social media?

Olivia returns to Thorndale when her dad needs her help and finds out she must share the house with Tom, an actor who has nowhere else to go. They’ve met once before and as they come to understand one another better, they learn to accept the past and look to the future, whilst having some festive fun.
How did you come up with the title for your book?

I discovered Truman Capote’s A Christmas Memory when researching A Country Village Christmas and it’s become a favourite. It’s very short, charming and full of pathos, and it too, plays a part in my own book.
We will be at home with my family for lunch and then my husband’s family on Boxing Day. We really love getting together and our young nieces and nephews make it lots of fun.
Amazingly that’s a whole month of authors stepping into my Festive Spotlight nearly over but don’t worry – there’s still another two each week in December in the run up to Christmas! My final #AuthorInTheFestiveSpotlight for November is Suzanne Snow. I have her book on my reading list for December so watch out for a review of that in the coming weeks.
For sheer fun I love The Grinch. There are so many witty lines and whilst the character is very over the top, it’s very well done and of course he learns a few lessons along the way. The Bishop’s Wife with Cary Grant is a favourite and of the modern Christmas movies, Ali Stroker in Christmas Ever After is fabulous.

My publisher Canelo suggested it after we’d tried a couple of others, and I really like it.
