It was only a month or so ago, while I was listening to Kate Mosse on a podcast while on my morning coastal walk, that it occurred to me that now was as good a time as any to launch one of my own. Having been a book blogger for what feels like a lifetime – I’m lucky enough to have a ready-made audience of sorts, and my Desert Island Books series felt like a natural choice to base a podcast on.
I set to work almost immediately – and deliberately emailed Kate Mosse to lock her in as my inaugural podcast guest to ensure that I couldn’t back out – and within a couple of weeks, The Literary Edit Podcast was launched. I’ve got a number of brilliant guests lined up – some of whom have already taken part in my Desert Island Books series on my blog; while others will be new faces whose inclusion on my podcast will – I hope – continue to expand the reading horizons of myself, readers of my blog, and followers of my podcast. Alongside the Desert Island Books episodes, Jordan Turner, co-owner of Gertrude & Alice, will be joining me for monthly reading round-ups, in which we’ll be discussing the books we loved and loathed during the month, take-outs from The Bondi Literary Salon and much, much more.
I hope that you enjoy listening to my podcast as much as I enjoy making it!
